Welcome back! It’s the end of July, and it feels like this year is just zipping by. XOXO is around the corner, and the days are getting shorter. I saw two movies yesterday back-to-back (in two theaters because I’m ridiculous), and I’m wiped out. I hope your weekend was exactly how you wanted it to be. Here’s some links:
夏祭り at Umami Mart meant more Shochu. My favorite one today was Green Tea Shochu. Sure, it’s a little expensive, but it’s delicious and unique too.
At this point, I think everyone had liked to Craig’s very good post on fast software, but I recommend re-reading it just to hammer home the point. Most of my software choices are predicated on speed. On that note, my company just dropped a much faster client last week.
You’ll need some calming music before you move to the next link: I recommend the new Florist album.
Confirming what every woman since the advent of women wearing pants has learned: women’s pant pockets are bullshit. It’s super frustrating, and fortunately, the pants I wear daily (Outdoor Voices RecTrek) have bigger pockets. How is it 2019 and we still don’t have pockets that we can use?! It’s the worst.
Ok, deep breaths. Why not fly around a mysterious new world to take the edge off? The folks who made Journey have done it again. A stunning, sweet mobile game called Sky.
Closing out this week is a comic series I’m so excited for: House of X. If the first issue is anything to go on, this might be the first unmissable X series in years. If you’re at all a comics fan, even if you haven’t read X-Men stuff in years, this is a great place to pick back up. Powers of X comes in next week, and by the end of the year, we’ll probably know all about the new world they’ve begun to create.
Thanks again for reading, and see you in August!
